The SLCVS office is quite near to the Market Harborough town centre,
situated in Sainsbury's car park, near the junction of the A6 from Kettering
and the A427 from Corby.

The office is usually open during the following times:
Monday to Friday 10.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.

The SLCVS is managed by Jacki Shorley and the
Administration and Information Officer is Julia Ashenden.

Ann Lee is Early Years Development Worker
Diane Cherry is Carers Development Worker
(shared with Blaby and Melton)
Geoff Robinson is Rural Outreach and Development Worker
Mary Higgins is Disability Development Project Worker

Purpose

The SLCVS aims to promote and support effective voluntary action. Membership is open to all voluntary groups and organisations within the Harborough District Council area.

The core services of the SLCVS are jointly funded by Harborough District Council and the Social Services Department of Leicestershire County Council.

The SLCVS offers a range of resources and services including:

  • Loan of equipment and printed materials
  • Training of volunteers, paid workers and trustees
  • Preparation of posters, leaflets and AGM invitations
  • Advice on the starting and running of voluntary groups
  • NEXUS - a quarterly newsletter for the voluntary sector
