One morning Hodja took home a kilo of meat and gave it to his wife. He went out again on business but returned in the evening, expecting to eat some of the meat. His wife had given it to a poor relative but she blamed the cat for stealing the meat and eating it. Hodja was not impressed. He soon found the cat and weighed it on the kitchen scales. "One kilo!" declared Hodja to his wife. "So, if this is the cat, then where is the meat? But if this is the meat, then where is the cat?"
